2013: A Year In Review

It’s that time of year everybody. You know, that time where we all reminisce about the past 12 months. So here goes! This year I:

  • Started volunteering at the Animal Rescue League once every week.
  • Read 28 books.
  • Ran my first (and second) 5K. Like a boss.
  • Traveled to the UK with my mom for 10 days. So much fun :)
  • Graduated with a 4.0.
  • Visited Chicago for the first time with Mack.
  • Traveled to North Carolina and spent a week with my extended family and one of my best friends.
  • Moved to Shadyside from Oakland and never looked back.
  • Adopted Yogi!
  • Learned what it’s like to live with absolutely no disposable income. Similarly, I learned that it’s okay to lean on the people you love when you need their help.
  • Traveled to Manhattan, Kansas to walk at graduation.
  • Went to the movies exactly once.
  • Received flowers exactly once.
  • Get exactly one bad sunburn.
  • Bought exactly two pairs of shoes: one for running, and one pair of fantastic nude wedges.
  • Went to one concert: The Black Keys.
  • Started drinking coffee daily to help ward off migraines.
  • Learned that the generic brand of 95% of food/toiletries is just as good as the branded kind. And became fiercely loyal to Aldi.
  • Had SERIOUS costly car trouble that almost stranded us in Ohio.
  • Saw Dave Chappelle live.
  • Cooked our first thanksgiving dinner, 20 lb turkey and all.
  • Discovered the delicious calorie bomb that is Prantl’s.
  • My attitude toward 2014:
